Scam Warning From Eger CPA
This morning Eger CPA received a phone call that originated in Albany, NY. The automated recording said that we were required to call a certain number to pay our delinquent tax bill or else we would be arrested and taken in front of a magistrate. Fortunately, we have a few awesome CPAs in this office, and we know that we are just fine with our tax obligations. Also, the IRS would NEVER make a phone call like this.
Shortly afterwards, we received a call from a client that he had received the same threatening message. Please ignore these scammers. If you have any questions, you can always give us a call to “Double Check,” or you can call the IRS directly. Also, make sure that your older family members and neighbors are aware of these scams. Sadly, our parents and grandparents are often the most vulnerable to these predatory calls.
On a lighter note, we recently mailed out our Individual Tax Organizers and Business Letters. If you did not receive yours, please give us a call to make sure that we have your most recent address on file.
We hope that everyone is having a wonderful 2015, and we will see you soon!
